I was so pleased to hear that the organisers of Silcock's Winter Wonderland, Tammy & Billy Silcock had donated £500,000 worth of tickets to our NHS staff as a thank you for all their hard work during the pandemic. I'm sure that everyone had a wonderful time with their families.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to the charity for donating the tickets for the Winter Wonderland last weekend, I thought initially that it would be about a dozen tickets and was totally blown away at the actual amount that we received. I have had lots of great comments from the staff that went saying how brilliant it was, and how much everybody enjoyed it. The moral on Critical Care at the moment is not that good due to ongoing pressures, and so this came at the best possible time.

There were so many pictures and thank yous shared on our closed Facebook page that I had to share some with you. The team here on the Critical Care Unit at Salford can not thank enough for the really generous donation of tickets to the Winter Wonderland. It really has given the staff a very needed boost before Christmas given the pressures they have been under continuously for almost 2 years now. They all had a fantastic time with their families and couldn’t praise how amazing and big that the wonderland is! It was so kind for the donator to think of us and give this extra special treat to so many of our multi-disciplinary team.

Please pass on our enormous thank you.
